2011 MSPA DRIVER
OF THE YEAR SIGNS KAMPS PROPANE FOR LATE MODEL CAMPAIGN
PINE
GROVE, CALIFORNIA (March 16, 2012) – Two-time defending All American Speedway Late Model
champion Matt Scott, recently named 2011 Norcal Motorsports Press
Association Driver of the Year, has signed a title sponsorship with
Kamps Propane to race Late Models at both All American Speedway and
Stockton 99 Speedway in 2012.
The 19-time NASCAR
Late Model winner will embark on a busy 2012 schedule that will
include full-time efforts at both speedways. The 2012 season will
begin on March 31st with a 75 lap contest at All American Speedway.
In addition to
Kamps Propane sponsorship, Scott will also carry support from Axcel
Sports, CatchYourEye.com Motorsports Graphics, Pardee Lake
Recreation, and TAS Construction on the #35
Chevrolet. Kamps Propane joined Matt Scott Racing as a major
associate sponsor during the 2011 season and also was a major
sponsor of Scott's debut in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series, West last
October. That debut yielded a tenth place finish and Scott is
hopeful that another successful Late Model season can translate to
more opportunities in the K&N series.
"I am very excited
to have Kamps Propane sponsoring the Late Model again this year,"
Scott said. "All the momentum is behind us for a great season to
hopefully open more doors in the West Series."
On March 7, Scott
was honored for his 2011 accomplishments by the Motorsports Press
Association and was named Closed Wheel / Oval Track Drive of the
Year. Scott joined road racer Joey Hand, open-wheel star Kyle
Larson, Indycar driver J.R. Hildebrand, and World of Outlaws
championship car owner Chris Luck as the night's honorees. The
banquet was held at the spectacular Blackhawk Museum in Danville,
Calif.
Scott's 2011 season
included seven poles, six wins, and 14 top-fives in 17 starts.
Scott had a stretch of the season where he qualified in the
top-three in 10 consecutive events. His career NASCAR stats include
19 wins, 14 poles, and 66 top-tens in 73 starts.
Matt Scott Racing
thanks Kamps Propane for their support and would welcome additional
interested sponsors to contact Steven Blakesley of Blakesley Sports
Media at (916) 509-7049.
