THREE STRAIGHT NASCAR LATE MODEL WINS FOR MATT SCOTT RACING

PINE GROVE, CALIFORNIA (July 6, 2011) – 19 year-old Matt Scott continued his drive for back-to-back Late Model championships at All American Speedway by sweeping Saturday night’s NASCAR Whelen All-American Series twin 50s at the one-third mile asphalt oval outside Sacramento.

The twin 50 wins give Scott three straight to go along with this win on June 18, and his second straight fast-time.  The Pine Grove, CA driver now has 17 career NASCAR Late Model wins and 11 career NASCAR Late Model fast-times.

On Saturday, Scott led time trials with a 13.792 second lap to place him eighth on the grid after the inversion.  Navigating the in a race that saw several accidents and spinouts, Scott finally cracked the top-five on lap 17.

On a lap 25 restart, Scott began to close down on the top-two cars.  With the #35 BJB Enterprises / RPM NorCal / Karp Capital Chevrolet running well, Scott was able to pass Juan Pitta for second on lap 25 and get past rookie Dylan Hutchison to take the lead on lap 29.

Scott stayed cool during a late charge from Hutchison to take home the win in the first 50 lap feature.  Immediately following the win, Scott spun a six on the invert wheel for the second race.

At the start of the second 50 lapper, Scott made a power move on the outside to go three wide and take over second on lap one.  Scott then took over the lead from Brian Keck on lap six during a restart battle.

The final 44 laps were dominated by Scott as he picked up the win and extended his points lead to a whopping 52 markers over Juan Pitta and 54 points over 2009 track champ Jason Romero.

Matt Scott Racing will get one week off before returning to action with a 100 lap contest on Saturday July 16 at All American Speedway.
